hEAR DROPS – Acoustic Adventures

Each spot or space has its own acoustic signature. Playing with sound in a place reveals its ability to echo sounds. Vice versa, listening to the sound of a place without seeing it, can give you a lot of information about the space: Is it in the open air or in a room? Is the space big or small? Are the walls made of stone or another material? Is it empty or furnished?

hEAR DROPS promotes cooperation between children and adults based on shared criteria. The principle is simple: watch an episode together, discuss what you’ve seen and heard, watch again, interpret the rules of the game, discuss context and materials, perform together, evaluate together.

Artlink: Gabriele Münter
This video was inspired by the coloration of Gabriele Münter (1877-1962). She was an avant-garde painter in an art world that was mainly dominated by men. In 1937, she was banned by the Nazis from exhibiting her work. Today, the most important national art prize for women in Germany carries her name.
