In residence: Ellen Schroven

Ellen Schroven is working in Dommelhof on Berg: a collective landscape expedition, indebted to the work and thinking of pataphysicians and anchored in nine Belgian and Dutch villages or hamlets bearing the name ‘Berg’. Together with other creators and thinkers, she examines whether the speed at which clouds slide by in the morning affects the course of the rest of the day, compiles colour maps of geological formations in hollow roads, captures the sounds with which the wind chases light through the fluttering trees, unravels flight paths of glaziers and variable damselflies in a fossil river valley, incrementally copies the meandering Demer line until nightfall, and explores the darkness of night in the only Mountain located in a valley.
