In residentie: Ellen Schroven

Ellen Schroven works in Dommelhof on Berg: a collective landscape expedition, indebted to the working and thinking of pataphysicists and anchored in nine Belgian and Dutch villages or hamlets that bear the name ‘Berg’. Together with other makers and thinkers, she investigates whether the speed at which the clouds pass by in the morning has an influence on the course of the rest of the day, she compiles color maps of geological formations in sunken roads, she captures the sounds with which the wind drives the light through the fluttering elms, she unravels the escape routes of glaziers and variable damselflies in a fossil river valley, she gradually copies the meandering Demerlijn until evening falls, and she investigates the darkness of the night in the only mountain located in a valley.
