Programma

Kinga Jaczewska – BRUT

February 5 2026 – 20.00 – CCHA, Hasselt

For BRUT, Jaczewska departs from a more personal and literal starting point than before—Brutalism. Brutalism not only presents the architectural genre found in Eastern and Central Europe, but also the social system and ideology it once represented, contrasting with the questionable brilliance of contemporary capitalism.

With a focus on functionality, deliberate simplicity, and a radical approach to form, BRUT explores the relationships between the individual and the collective, between expressionism and béton brut, and between freedom and constraint. By placing the “ordinary” at the center, Jaczewska dares to question the prevailing view of what is spectacular.

Sébastien Hendrickx – Palace of Justice

February 12 2026 – 20.15 – CC De Werft, Geel
May 27 2026 – 20.00 – CCHA, Hasselt

Palace of Justice is a visual theatre performance that focuses on the judiciary, in all its ambiguity. The Belgian legal system is constantly under fire for its cumbersome and sometimes even unjust nature. Today, justice, as a pillar of our democracy, is under increasing pressure.

Judges, lawyers, defendants, ushers, clerks, and cleaning staff appear in this performance. All characters are played by two strong actors, Mats Vandroogenbroeck and Yolanda Mpele. Come discover for yourself what this team has to offer, and who knows, you might even learn something new about our legal system!

Zonzo Compagnie – FEST

February 24 2026 – 10.00 & 13.30 – CC Muze, Heusden-Zolder

Brace yourselves, straighten your heads, clear your throat. Because it’s time. Time for a festive revolution, time for ‘FEST!’ Almost a hundred years ago, Spanish teacher José Antonio Emmanuel published the manifesto “Anarchy Explained to Children.” He wrote: “Life must be what it should be: a free expression of capacities, spontaneity of actions, an ultimate freedom that breaks down the causes that hinder this society, based on the greatest freedom and the most absolute independence.” And that’s exactly what singer Junior Akwety, sound artist Jochem Baelus, and clarinetist Lotte Vanhamel are doing: they place their fate in the hands of the young audience and call for revolution.

‘FEST’ will be a bombshell of musical anarchy. The musicians transform from ritual percussion to enchanting voices and back again. Inspired by songs from Junior’s native Congo, they incorporate touches of rumba, banto electronics, deep house, hip-hop, and rap. Together with the audience, they create a new world: uninhibited, free, and spontaneous. Get ready for a musical celebration and a revolution for children: a revolution that radiates positive energy. “FEST” refers to contemporary dance culture: a gathering that might have a slightly illegal air, but above all, will leave a lasting impression on everyone who attended. You too. Get ready for this courageous stand against the tide.

Norma/Ultima Thule – Geroezemoes

April 27 2026 – 10.30 & 13.30 – CC Muze, Heusden-Zolder

One day, the murmur spread like wildfire through the sleepy town. Solnistad was buzzing with rumors… Norma told the news to Germain. Germain to Gigi. Gigi to the singing barber who came to the restaurant for dinner that evening. The barber to his clients. The clients to their neighbors. And the neighbors called their mothers. So? Have you heard? She’s coming to our town! Ah, who? Esmeralda Jonagold! Is she still alive? Absolutely! Miraculously! A mystery!

The rumor of the arrival of a world-famous diva stirs excitement in the village. While the residents are swept away by the increasingly loud murmur, the street dogs watch from a distance. With humorous commentary, the dogs describe how the whispered suspicions and fabrications spiral out of control and turn the village upside down.

“Rumor” is a visual and humorous performance about the power of stories and rumors. It playfully demonstrates how quickly fabrications become bigger, further, louder, and crazier. Two players bring this captivating story to life in a colorful setting filled with objects, figures, and sounds. The story has also been published as a book, and the creators are happy to visit your classroom for an introductory workshop.

Renée Goethijn – 4 women getting sick

June 2 2026 – 20.00 – CCHA, Hasselt

What begins as a typical doctor’s visit escalates into an endless medical limbo. Four characters become entangled in a world where operating table, body, and landscape merge. Echoes of past and future times intertwine. The characters seek a way out of the bizarre cycle of exhaustion and resistance.

4 Women Getting Sick presents a magical-realist universe that explores the link between body and land through visual and physical theatrical language. Both are subject to a long history of conquest, oppression, and exhaustion. Inspired by surrealism and sacred ecology, Goethijn searches for the liberating power of the ancient bond between the female body and the earth.

In this performance, the set becomes a fully-fledged player. 4 Women Getting Sick is a visually stimulating and unsettling theatrical experience that grates, amazes, and encourages reflection. Absurdity, humor, and existential questions merge into an ode to the feminine realm.

ECCE / Claire Croizé – The Round

June 7 2026 – 15.00 – C-mine, Genk

In a unique outdoor location—far from the traditional theater—audiences are welcomed into a circular seating area as the music begins. Eight children, aged 9 to 13, take the lead. Their untamed energy ripples through the open space, connecting everyone around them and unleashing something immense: an explosion of life force. For everyone young at heart, aged 8-108.
