Drop Sculptures

“I have to lock myself up for a few days to make a new ‘Drop sculpture’ on location. It is important not to have a contrived concept other than to drop or drip something. This method creates space for me to discover the subtle qualities of a room.” Sturgeon creates art installations for a building and its users. The gentle, yet powerful quality of a drop can usually be experienced as it falls, continuously. A Drop sculpture is a site-integrated installation that offers the opportunity to bring the observer back to the present and revalue (a specific) space and time.
