Hortus Temporis
Daems Van Remoortere
Description
Hortus Temporis is an artistic research project by Daems Van Remoortere, focusing on the creation of a kinetic bio-art sculpture that functions as a living, moving island while simultaneously collecting ecological data. The project consists of two complementary components: the Mothership Island installation, a floating sculpture on which plants grow in harmony with natural and cosmic movements, and Chrono Flora, a museum-like installation in which the collected data artificially reconstructs the island’s natural conditions. This creates a dialogue between nature and technology that not only visualizes the fragile balance of ecosystems but also raises fundamental questions about their future in times of climate change.
