“Let it all out!” the DJ shouts through the microphone. Children’s sweat fills the smallest nightclub in the country. Hoarse voices cheer to the music. “Parents not allowed!” says a bouncer at the door. Adults simply don’t fit in with their large bodies.

The pounding beats carry all the way outside. The roof comes off. The little ravers break free from parental control during their first rave.

Welcome to Bonkers Kidsrave, a club for partygoers aged 5 and up, run by Nikolas Lestaeghe, Jonathan Cant, and Casimir Franken. The beats of Belgian Eurodance, gabber, and techno blast through the speakers, and the smoke machines run at full speed.

While adults watch from the sidelines with open mouths, this theatrical experience challenges children to let loose completely. Inside the club, actors, interactive elements, and age-appropriate DJ sets ensure children find their groove at this fun rave. The little ravers leave with a new perspective on (their) freedom, and then take adults along for the ride.
