plum road tea dream is Samuel Baidoo’s ‘inner sanctum’, built within the online video game Minecraft. What started as casual gameplay for fun during the first COVID-19 lockdown gradually transformed into a way to process personal and worldly events. Minecraft became an intimate space for reflection, healing and archiving by using it as an extension of the artist’s emotional world and mind. In the game, temples, altars, totems, monuments are built and diaries are kept. At a later stage, Samuel wants to explore how plum road tea dream can be separated from Minecraft and conceive of it as an experience for the public by transforming it into a standalone video game.
