Benjamin Vandewalle & Veronique Mees were guests at C-TAKT in April 2025 for their dance performance ‘Ben en Vero’. What happens when you create a dance with a body that behaves and reacts completely differently than your own body? When a body that has been disciplined by years of ballet training moves with a body that deals with the symptoms of cerebral palsy?

This duet will not emphasize differences. It is not set up as a clash between opposing identities. This dance is an experiential and experimental choreography for two bodies moving together. The performance wants to expand the aesthetic norms of how we look at dance and question the current lack of inclusion within the dance world. It wants to see, investigate and try out alternatives to hierarchical structures based on abilities, gender and age. How fluid can our identities become in a dance?
